The January 2012 Sea Cadet Gouge is available The 2011 - 2012 Drill Schedule is available Last updated: 25 January 2012 New cadet orientation will be on Saturday morning March 10th at 9:00am at Hensley and Company (4201 N. 45th Ave, Phoenix). For new cadets who are coming to sign up, please bring with you the following: - Social Security number - Immunization Record - Health Insurance information - Your parents (to sign paperwork) Our next scheduled all hands event is our community service project scheduled for Saturday, February 4th. We will meet outside the gates of Hensley and Company no later than 0700 and carpool to Mesa (just south of Falcon Field) where we will be picking citrus trees and donating the fruit to a local food bank. Uniform for this event is Unit issued PT Shirts and Unit Ballcaps. If there are enough people to complete the task by lunch, we will take the afternoon and go on a tour of the Commemorative Air Museum at Falcon Field. for those of you who live closer to Mesa than to Hensley, contact the CO for directions to the site and you can meet us there directly by 0800. Sea Cadets from any unit may participate. For cadets from other units, please bring your Sea Cadet ID card and emergency contact information with you to the event. Our next all hands event will be to support the Arizona Centennial Festival at Wesley Bolin Plaza on February 11th and 12th. Hensley and Company will remain open during drill both days to support new incoming cadets, take care of supply issues and conduct additional training as needed. All cadets will have the opportunity to participate in the Centennial events scheduled. We will be providing support as watch standers for the USS Arizona replica, to escort VIP's, and other tasking as required. Morning Muster will be at Hensley and Company for drill both days at 0730 and cadets will be shuttled over to the event from there in order to avoid parking issues near the event. Cadets will be returned and dismissed from Hensley. More information will be forthcoming as the event gets closer. Other Items of interest: Veteran's Pride Batallion is also sponsoring the following activities. Attendance is not required, but you are allowed to attend if you wish.
Sea Cadet Scuba Training If you are seriously thinking about doing the SCUBA class, please contact your chain of command so that we can make sure there is room in the class for you ASAP. Sailboat Training is underway. All cadets will receive basic classroom instruction in knot tying and sailing seamanship. Any cadets who would like to go on the water to sail may sign up to go sailing. On the water training is completed at either Lake Pleasant, Tempe Town Lake, or Alvord Lake depending on weather conditions. The sailboat training webpage will be posted to the website with the dates available to sign up to go sailing. Next available sailing dates: When you are ready to begin sailing, contact LCDR Turner to schedule a day to get started. Most weekends are available. Other items ongoing you should know about... Unless directed above to do differently, for Saturday drills, Navy League cadets generally wear Dungaree/Utility uniforms, and Sea Cadets wear the Navy Working Uniform (NWU). Cadets should arrive in PT Gear and bring their NWU's/Dungarees. Please bring a clean T-shirt (navy blue for NWU's, white for dungarees) to change into after we finish PT. On Sunday, please wear your dress uniform (Summer Blue) or Salt and Pepper's for you old salts. Find your ID card and look at the expiration date. If you are within two months of expiring, you need to start the re-enrollment process. See Admin at drill to get that taken care of. Any cadets who need their ID cards renewed or replaced will be taken care of on Saturday drill. For cadets who are renewing their annual dues, renewal fees for returning cadets is $100.00 payable to "USNSCC". Replacement ID Cards if you lost or damaged them are $5.00. Please make sure all your items are properly marked with your name on them. Items that are lost or stolen are not our responsibility, they are yours.
